Unfortunately, this helmet was stored in a garage, and due to that, the condition is poor. There is almost no paint left on the shell, and one chinstrap has rotted away.
Close up on the application method of this decal. The 104th Division Timberwolf was cut out from paper and a layer of glue was applied over it.
Corporal Smith scratched his last name and rank insignia on the front of his liner. The same shade of green paint on this liner can be seen on the museum's other 104th Division helmet.
The icing on the cake for this helmet was the absolute handwriting match to Corporal Smith's draft card as seen in the next photo.
