SSgt Levia returned home with this beautiful souvenir Japanese Type 90 helmet, painted with dates and locations he evidently visited.
Note that the shade of olive drab this helmet is painted with is very unique. I have yet to come across another one quite like it. It is again, like several other examples in the museum, glossy.
In addition to Levia's laundry number on the helmet shell, it is stamped inside the liner webbing.
The now partially obscured "108" on the rear of SSgt Levia's helmet, evidently referring to the 108th Infantry Regiment.
There is some sort of marking underneath the paint on this helmet. It resembles 3rd Infantry Division insignia, but the meaning is unknown.
